Funeral Day October 10, 2011

Today is not going to be easy for my family. To say our last goodbyes will be the hardest thing to do. I have some poems I would like to share. I will be reading them today as we say goodbye.

                                  A Native American Prayer

I give you this one thought to keep. I am with you still I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow; I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain; I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning`s hush, I am the swift uplifting rush.....
Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone... I am with you still...In each new dawn.

Here is second Poem:
I thought of you with love today,
But that is nothing new.
I thought about you yesterday,
And the days before that, too.
I think of you in silence,
I often speak your name.
Now all I have is memories,
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is my keepsake,
With which I'll never part.
God has you in His Keeping,
I have you in my Heart.

Here is third poem:

You never said you're leaving

You never said goodbye
You were gone before I knew it,
And only God knew why.
A million times I needed you,
A million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still
In my heart you hold a place,
That nobody could ever fill.
It broke my heart to lose you,
But you didn't go alone
For part of me went with you,
The day God took you home.

We love you Tommy. You were the best husband and father. You are etched into our hearts and the pain will remain.

Your loving wife and kids,
Linda, Shaelee, Erik and your cat, Feather

Such beautiful poems. Deeply touching. What a wonderful man Tommy was. I don't have the words to express how terribly sorry I am for your loss. I believe he is watching over you, and you will see him again in heaven.

Tommy brought love, life, and laughter to you all. Hold on to that and let it heal you now. Use his memories and love to bring you peace. You're in my prayers.
